ActiveSync Device Setup Guide - Android (Version 4.X+)

PROBLEM

I need to configure my atmail account to connect via ActiveSync to my android device.

ENVIRONMENT

  • On-Premise Server + WebMail Installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version
  • Webmail Only Installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version

CAUSE

Requirement for ActiveSync connection.

RESOLUTION

Configure ActiveSync on your Android device using the following guide:

Begin by launching your Settings application.


Tap the Accounts tab and select the Add Account option.


Tap the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync option as the account you wish to configure.


Enter your Email Address and Password then tap the Next button.


Enter your Exchange server settings, specifying your:

  • Email address
  • Domain\user name
  • Password
  • Exchange server

Ensure you also select the Use secure connection option if SSL is enabled on your server.

Then tap the Next button.


An activation notice may appear, in which case tap OK to continue.


Configure your account options, selecting your personal preferences then tap Next to continue.


Optionally, enter a name for your ActiveSync configuration then tap Done.


Congratulations, you have successfully configured ActiveSync on your Android device, now from your Sync settings you can individually toggle features to sync.
