ENVIRONMENT

  • atmail 7 cloud

CAUSE
Requirement for Mozilla Thunderbird configuration.

RESOLUTION

Required details

To connect your atmail 7 cloud account to Mozilla Thunderbird you will need the following:

  • Email Address
  • Email Password
  • Server Settings
    • Basic Server Settings:
      Incoming server: mail-<subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com or <subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com
      Port: 143 for IMAP, 110 for POP3
      Outgoing server: smtp-<subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com or <subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com
      Port: 25 or 587
    • Secure Server Settings:
      Incoming server: mail-<subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com or <subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com
      Port: 993 for IMAPS, 995 for POP3S
      Outgoing server: smtp-<subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com or <subscriptionname>.atmailcloud.com
      Port: 25 or 587

Note: Connection via Secure Server Settings is highly recommended. IMAP is also preferred over POP3. If you are unsure on what settings to use with your atmail cloud account, please contact your atmail cloud webadmin/Account Manager.

Setting up new account

Open Mozilla Thunderbird and on the start page click Create new account to configure your account with Thunderbird.

Mail Account Setup

Enter your name, email address and password then click 'Continue'.

Thunderbird will now try to find details for your account. Click 'Stop' to enter these details yourself. Select the protocol you wish to use then click 'Manual Setup...'.

Note: Due to the way that accounts are configured in Mozilla Thunderbird, ensure you select the correct protocol here. You will not be able to adjust this setting later.

Editing new account POP3 or IMAP details

On the left hand pane select 'Server Settings' of the newly created account.

Here you can enter details of your POP3 or IMAP atmail account. Click OK to submit changes.

Editing new account SMTP details

On the left hand pane select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)'.

On the right, select the default SMTP server and click Edit.

Enter your SMTP details. Click OK to submit changes.

Finalise account setup

Click OK to submit changes.
