I want my users to be able to configure their atmail accounts with Mozilla Thunderbird.
- On-Premise Server + WebMail Installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version
- Webmail Only Installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version
Requirement for Mozilla Thunderbird configuration.
To connect your atmail account to Mozilla Thunderbird you will need the following:
- Email Address
- Email Password
- WebMail login page URL.
Note: The WebMail login page is required for outgoing and incoming settings of your account in Thunderbird. If you WebMail login page is http://domain.com/mail/ then your outgoing and incoming settings will be mail.domain.com.
Setting up new account
Open Mozilla Thunderbird and on the start page click Create new account to configure your account with Thunderbird.
Mail Account Setup
Enter your name, email address and password then click 'Continue'.
Thunderbird will now try to find details for your account. Click 'Stop' to enter these details yourself. Select the protocol you wish to use then click 'Manual Setup...'.
Note: Due to the way that accounts are configured in Mozilla Thunderbird, ensure you select the correct protocol here. You will not be able to adjust this setting later.
Editing new account POP3 or IMAP details
On the left hand pane select 'Server Settings' of the newly created account.
Here you can enter details of your POP3 or IMAP atmail account. Click OK to submit changes.
Editing new account SMTP details
On the left hand pane select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)'.
On the right, select the default SMTP server and click Edit.
Enter your SMTP details. Click OK to submit changes.
Finalise account setup
Click OK to submit changes.
