Unable to Move Message on iOS

When I slide my finger to the right of an email, I get the familiar "Delete", but when I try to select it, it gives me the message: Unable to Move Message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash.


  • atmail cloud
  • on-premises server installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version
  • webmail only installations: Version 6.0 > Current Version


  • iOS IMAP settings


  1. Note that when connecting via IMAP, the default trash box selected is "on the phone". Note that you will need to choose to use the trash box on the server in order for delete to work.
  2. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Select atmail IMAP account > Account > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox > Select "On the Server".
